I found AKS LLC on the internet and was so happy to find they had done work with my neighbor. Tim and his staff were timely, professional, responsive, helpful and did a great job remodeling my bathroom. I added a few other tasks while there and they were supper flexible and accommodating. Tim told me timing and expectations each day and they always met those promises. In addition they were very helpful in suggesting colors, tile options, etc.

Tim Duncan of AKS did a fantastic job on our basement. We met with about five other contractors, all of whom came highly recommended, but Tim seemed like the best choice – and that theory was certainly supported by his efforts on the project. He is a great communicator. He offers helpful design ideas and can roll with your ideas while being appropriately clear about which approaches will work best. If you come up with additional ideas after the project gets underway, he’s flexible. Tim, Edgar and every member of his team are friendly, responsible, punctual, work hard and provide the highest quality. Every day there was visible progress. That’s how the basement was finished even faster than predicted. We couldn’t be happier with how things went and turned out.

We hired AKS Services to help bring to life a major kitchen/bath/mudroom remodel which involved many moving parts and the ability to work around other contractors. Tim and his guys are great to work with. Tim was present throughout the project which we very much appreciated. The crew was friendly, professional and hardworking. They were quick to address any issues or changes that needed to be made and we are very satisfied with the end result. As a Real Estate Agent, I have worked with many different contractors and Tim will be my go-to from now on.

Tim and Victor have helped me out on a varied number of jobs. They first rescued me from a botched DIY floor tiling job, but have also done cabinet painting, plumbing, electric, drywall, and carpentry. Tim is great at assessing and explaining what’s going on and has been doing lots of repairs to a rental home we own. It’s nice to have a go-to guy for projects big and small. Plus he’s super friendly and his charges are reasonable.

We used AKS for two big jobs this year—a long-delayed kitchen renovation and painting and rehab for our open area. We will use them for future work as we continue our home renovations.
Kitchen: Tim and Victor worked with us throughout our kitchen renovation to maintain a design aesthetic that was true to the mid-century architecture of our home. We used Ikea cabinets and appliances and had to modify the design as the project started due to supply-chain issues. Throughout the work, Tim and Victor were responsive and made changes as necessary to accommodate some of the unique features and challenges of our home. They finished the project on time and on budget.
Painting and general repairs: Our most recent project involved the painting, repair, and lighting for our open area and main hallway. As with the kitchen, Tim and Victor did a superb job cleaning and repairing the beams and columns in our open area and hallway. This work involved several days at the top of a 12 ft ladder. During this project, Victor discovered termite damage near the roofline. Tim and Victor immediately informed us of the discovery and adjusted their work to accommodate needed repairs (after an inspection). They repaired water-damaged shelves and paneling in our main hallway and painted all the drywall to bring a uniform look to our open area. Even with the additional work, the project was completed on time and on budget.

AKS is very efficient and reliable. I needed emergency work on my plumbing and they came the next day. Also assisted with building a drywall in my basement and helping remodel one of my bathrooms. Whole process took no more than a week and the final results were great. I highly recommend!

AKS services did an excellent job building a shed for us. They also repaired some cracked concrete on our front steps and did some minor drywall repair and wood sanding. Tim was super-helpful and informative before the job and very patient when answering all of our questions. Victor did an outstanding job on the shed and drywall repair, and their concrete team was impressive, too. When we had some minor follow-up problems, Tim was responsive and is coming back to our house this week to resolve them. I highly recommend AKS.
